Seller's Description
This is a non-AMF Harley Davidson & a very seldom found Sturgis in factory Dark Brown Metallic with Gold accents & factory Gold wheels. The Sturgis was first introduced in 1981 as an all black bike with orange accents. In 1982 Harley continued with the model after the management bought out AMF & began production and a new era. The commemorative badge on the front fender celebrates the takeover of AMF by Harley. These bikes had what was then considered a radical approach to the primary & final drive system utilising an new dual belt system as opposed to the traditional chain system. The Root Beer Brown 1982 models are very rare & seldom found worldwide. They are far rarer than the 1981 black models. Being one of only 750 made this bike is a very clean survivor and has only done a super low 14k miles since new. The 1340CC engine is in excellent running condition & has had a recent tune up & carburettor clean. It has had a new battery fitted & starts up easily & idles nicely. The paintwork is all original and still presents nicely with no evidence of ever being damaged. It has a small dent on the left hand side of the fuel tank which can be seen in the photos & easily repaired. New brake pads front and back have been recently fitted along with a new uni air filter. It starts up easy and idles nicely. Currently unregistered. Comes with full Australian Import Approval papers for easy registration.
