2025 World Supersport Championship entry list
Ahead of the 2025 FIM Supersport World Championship (WorldSSP) getting underway at Phillip Island on 21-23 February, the entry list for the championship has been released.
There are 32 riders on the official list, five of which will be competing in the WorldSSP Challenge that’s limited to European circuits on the 2025 calendar. There will be 12 rookies on the grid, some of which have moved across from grand prix racing, stepped up from the World Supersport 300 class or down from World Superbike.

Adrian Huertas, the 2024 WorldSSP Champion, moves to Moto2 this year, while Yari Montella, last year’s second runner-up, won’t be on the 2025 grid, either. Montella’s Barni Spark Racing Team have exited WorldSSP and are focussing their resources on WorldSBK this year, taking the 25-year-old Italian with them.
The departure of Huertas and Montella opens up the championship to past contenders, as well as new arrivals in the category. Chief among those contenders is 2024 runner-up, Stefano Manzi, who retains his seat with Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing, but will have a new team mate in Japanese rookie, Yuki Okamoto.
Last year’s champion in the All Japan Road Racing Championship (aka JSB 1000), Okamoto secured that title on a Yamaha R1, but like all other Yamaha riders in WorldSSP this season, he’ll have to adapt to the R9 that replaces the R6 that was used previously.

Evan Bros. Racing, one of the most consistent frontrunners in WorldSSP, are expanding to a two-rider team this year and rebranding as ‘Yamaha bLU cRU EvanBros Racing’. In place of Valentin Debise, they have signed Can Oncu and last year’s World Supersport 300 Champion, Aldi Mahendra. GMT94-Yamaha are also doubling their presence in 2025. Lucas Mahias remains, with the addition being Michael Rinaldi, who makes his WorldSSP debut after seven years in WorldSBK.
QJMotor Factory Racing are another squad expanding to two riders, with veteran Niki Tuuli joining Raffaele De Rosa on the Chinese brand’s new SRK 800 RR.

WRP-RT Motorsport by SKM-Triumph are switching from the Street Triple RS 765 to the Ducati Panigale V2 for 2025 and changing their name to WRP Racing. Changing their rider lineup, too, with Jorge Navarro and John McPhee departing, replaced by Marcel Schroetter and Ondrej Vostatek.
Although Triumph’s presence on the 2025 WorldSSP grid is being halved from four to two, Australia’s Oli Bayliss will be on one of them, entered by PTR Triumph Factory Racing. Making the move from D34G Racing WorldSSP Team, Bayliss joins Tom Booth-Amos in the British team.
D34G Racing WorldSSP are running an all-new rider pairing this year in Glenn van Straalen and Eduardo Montero. Orelac Racing Verdnatura are also running an all-new lineup this year, replacing Federico Fuligni and the experienced Lorenzo Baldassarri with Jaume Masia and Xavi Cardelus. Both new additions come from grand prix racing, specifically Moto2.

MV Agusta Reparto Corse have drafted in Bo Bendsneyder and Filippo Farioli for Marcel Schroetter and Bahattin Sofuoglu. Bendsneyder completed a handful of fill-in rides on the MV Agusta F3 800 RR last year, while Farioli is another of this season’s 12 rookies, coming to the category from Moto3.
The second carryover MV Agusta team, Motozoo ME AIR Racing, retain Federico Caricasulo and Aussie Luke Power for 2025. There’ll also be a third MV Agusta team this year, with Team Flembbo-Pilote Moto Production debuting with Loic Arbel. Frenchman Arbel has completed a handful of rides in WorldSSP, most recently in 2021.

The final change of note for the 2025 WorldSSP grid is the arrival of Ana Carrasco. Last year’s inaugural Women’s Circuit Racing World Champion (and 2018 World Supersport 300 Champion), Carrasco joins Corentin Perolari on the Honda Racing World Supersport team that will contest the WorldSSP Challenge.
