JUST BIKES at AME Melbourne
Held in Melbourne on November 26-28, this year's Australian Motorcycle Expo (AME) will feature a special JUST BIKES event you won't want to miss: a live bobber build-off! JUST BIKES has brought together an expert team to showcase the latest techniques and create three street credible, old-school bikes from the ground up - and we're doing it LIVE over three huge days! The team will include Destino Custom Garage, Steve May from Lizard Designs, and DNA Custom Paint and Finishes, so bring your questions and learn from the best as you watch the experts in action.
The team will be bobbing a 2002 Kawasaki VN800, a 1995 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200, and in an Australian first, we'll also have a 2007 Yamaha XVS1100. This brand new Yamaha kit will make its debut at this weekend's show. Over the three days, Destino Custom Garage's Jimmy B and JUST BIKES' Jimmy G will work together in a race against the clock to build a bike a day, with the goal of completing all three bikes before AME finishes.
Steve May of Lizard Designs will be painting all three bikes, as well as offering live pin-striping demonstrations during the AME event. Renowned across the industry, Steve is a second generation painter and accomplished fine artist. His work can be viewed online at www.lizarddesigns.com.au.
DNA Custom Paint and Finishes have also joined the build team, and will supply their latest products for all the bikes. Owned and developed in Australia, DNA paints offer class-leading quality for an immaculate finish. DNA's latest matte finish will be featured on one of the bobbers at the show - visit dna-paints.com to see their full product range.
Over three huge days, the JUST BIKES Bobber Build Off will showcase everything from springer seats to custom paint jobs, bobbed out fenders and drag bars - and we'll show you just how easy it is to have a stand out ride in true old-school style! Video feeds and project blogs will be covering all three builds on www.justbikes.com.au, so even if you can't stick around to watch the entire build process, you can keep up to date with all the fun and mayhem as the builds take shape.
It's going to be HUGE, so don't miss out - see it LIVE at the Australian Motorcycle Expo this November 26th-28th at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. For expo times, entry costs and further details, see the advert in this issue or go to www.motorcycleshow.com.au
