GIVI Outback EVO - top strength AND top security

Now, with their new Smart Security Lock-enabled Outback EVO range of hard panniers and top boxes for adventure touring and maxi-enduro bikes, GIVI are leading the way again.

The Smart Security Lock is an innovative locking system that allows up to five GIVI Outback EVO aluminium cases to be secured using the one key. This not only prevents theft of contents within the cases, but theft of the cases themselves, as the system locks the case to the pannier/top box mounting plates.

Using a key and related locking cylinder, the Smart Security Lock works as follows:

• ‘Δ’ position – insert/remove locking cylinder
  Inserting the key AND locking cylinder into the case in the ‘Δ’ position that’s marked on the case’s cylinder opening activates the locking system.
• ‘O’ position – case lid locked, case secured to mounting
  Turning the key to ‘O’ secures the cylinder in place, locks the case lid and secures the case to its mounting plate, allowing the key to be removed.
• ‘I’ position – case lid unlocked, case secured to mounting
  Turning the key to ‘I’ allows the case lid to be opened, but the case itself remains secured to the mounting plate. In this position, the case lid can also be opened without the key being inserted (using a button on the lid).
• ‘II’ position – case lid unlocked, case removable
  Turning the key to ‘II’ allows the case lid to be opened AND the case to be removed. In this position, the key remains in the lock to prevent it being dropped or lost.

As the Smart Security Lock is separate to the case, it means the locking cylinder can be replaced if keys are lost, or the cylinder itself is damaged or tampered with, without having to replace the entire case.

The main lock fastener on the case lid features a double hook for improved safety and there’s a dust plug to cover the locking cylinder. An additional anti-theft measure is a lever inside the case that allows it to be fixed to the mounting plate, regardless of key position.

Note: GIVI Outback EVO cases and the Smart Security Lock kit are sold separately, but cases cannot be opened until the Smart Security Lock has been installed.

GIVI Outback EVO hard panniers are available in 48- and 37-litre capacity, with a contoured 33-litre RHS pannier to accommodate exhaust systems. Outback EVO top boxes are available in 58- and 42-litre capacity, with the 42-litre unit easily capable of holding a modular full-face helmet, while the 58-litre top box can fit two.

Panniers feature removable lids and the ‘Hold It Active’ system that allows the panniers to be tilted away from the mounts without taking them off the bike. On the Outback EVO top boxes, an ‘Adjustable Resistance Hinge System’ allows the lid’s closing speed to be adjusted.

All cases in the Outback EVO range are made in Italy and available in a choice of natural aluminium or painted black finish. A large range of accessories are also available.
