Scorpion EXO-R1 Evo Carbon Air – coming soon!
Already one of the most highly engineered helmets on the market, Scorpion’s EXO-R1 Evo Air has improved yet again. The EXO-R1 Evo Carbon Air takes the best features of the Evo Air and combines them with a carbon fibre shell. This makes for an extraordinarily light helmet that still offers the best safety.
Made for street, track and adventure riding, the all-new Scorpion EXO-R1 Evo Carbon Air is due to arrive in Australia soon, as part of an extended Scorpion EXO range.
Scorpion EXO-R1 Evo Carbon Air – key features
- Ultra TCT carbon fibre shell
- Aero-tuned ventilation
- Ellip-tec II tool-less visor system
- Multi-density EPS liner
- Airfit inflatable cheek pad system
- Kwikwick 3 washable fabric liner
Lightweight Shell
Available in multiple colour combinations and finishes (including ONYX Carbon), the EXO-R1 Evo Carbon Air weighs just 1.38kg (3.05 lb) thanks to its carbon shell. Ultra TCT (Thermodynamical Composite Technology) Carbon used for the shell was developed by Scorpion and has been applied to other helmets in their range. It’s now available for the EXO-R1 Air.
Thanks to the weave of the carbon fibre, the resin-infused carbon shell provides aircraft-grade impact dispersal. So, while it’s light, the EXO-R1 Evo Carbon Air is very, very strong. It’s ECE R22-06 safety rated, which is the highest rating available.
Designed and tested to meet the demands of MotoGP and World Superbikes, the shell shape is the same as that of the R1 Air. That means it’s aerodynamically tuned to reduce drag and lift, with a large top vent to scoop more air and adjustable chin vent.
Inflatable cheek pads
The ‘Air’ part in this helmet’s name refers to the inflatable cheek pads. As helmet linings compress with time and use, the helmet can feel loose. Scorpion’s Airfit system eliminates this. Airbags in the cheek area can be inflated – and delated – to ensure a snug, comfortable and secure fit around the face.
A press pump in the chin of the helmet inflates the Airfit bags, with a valve alongside releasing air. Child’s play to operate, Airfit ensures the optimum, customisable fit.
Secure, versatile visor system
The EXO-R1 Evo Carbon Air’s anti-scratch visor features the Ellip-tec II system that pulls the visor against the eyeport gasket for the best seal. It also allows easy, tool-less visor changes in seconds
The included visor has a smoke finish and a Pinlock Maxvision insert lens is included, ensuring fog-free vision when riding. Assisting this is a breath deflector as standard.
Other features
The EXO-R1 Evo Carbon Air also comes with double D titanium D-ring strap fasteners, an emergency release system and Kwikfit cheek pads that allow most types of glasses to be worn with the helmet.
KwikWick anti-microbial fabric lining wicks away sweat in hot weather to keep you cool and dry, but also keeps you warm in colder weather. This lining is easily removable and washable.
