THE PASSION OF THE TRIKE
They say all good things come in three’s, if you have not ridden a motorcycle trike or been involved with motorcycle trikes, you are really missing something! I’m sure you have seen these awesome machines riding down the road and you have turned your head to get a look.
Adding a third wheel to your motorcycle creates an amazing riding experience, has certain safety benefits, and gets loads of attention.
Riding a trike is a great way to get out and see more of the road.
Whether you’re a long time biker looking to stay safe through your golden years, or you’re someone looking to get into motorsports for the first time, a trike can be a great option for touring and cruising.
These values are held in high regard by husband & wife team Tony & Careena Cro, who have been working together side by side for over 20 years.
Tony is an engineer by trade, and a perfectionist by nature, whom started out building some of Australia's most recognisable Hot Rods (with no less than 10 years straight as a Meguiar's Superstar Finalist!)
With Careena’s guiding hand, Tony has combined his passion for Hot Rods and motorcycles to create some of the countries’ finest trikes at TC Custom Bikes.
One look at their showroom and you can see why their trikes are in high demand. From a gorgeous 2010 Honda Goldwing Deluxe to the premium new product they can proudly call their own, the 2018 TC Harley TC Street 500 Trike.
Over the past 18 months, Tony & Careena have been working closely with the Canberra Federal Licensing Board and Frankenstein Trikes to bring to Australia the new TC Harley TC Street 500 trike, which is now the first Learners Approved Trike in Australia.
You can now have a Harley-Davidson to learn on and ride for your motorcycling licence if you so choose, available through TC Custom’s.
Some of the advantages of a trike are as follows, you can fit an enormous amount of luggage that would be impossible with a standard road bike.
You can stop at a stoplight and not worry about your footing or retaining your balance.
Not only are they comfortable and fun to ride, they’re also significantly more stable than a motorcycle, meaning you won’t have to worry as much about tipping or adverse weather conditions.
This can be a big deal on a wet road or if you're getting older and having trouble balancing your motorcycle at a stop or perhaps if you have a medical condition such as a bad knee etc. but still have that love to ride.
Some motorcycle "purists" would contend that a motorcycle trike is not motorcycling; that it is not acceptable to a "real" biker.
A REAL biker respects other bikers and their machines, even if different from theirs.
Many people who have certain medical conditions that love to ride motorcycles but are physically unable to are able to stay with the sport as now they can ride without having to worry about balance or the weight of the machine being too much for them.
Folks, whatever a person rides, respect him or her for the fact that they are brethren in that we are all motorcycle riders, regardless of the shape or size of their ride.
To the joy of TC Customs late last year, a gentleman by the name of Graham came into the showroom for a look at all the Trikes on offer, and said to Tony, I wish I could have one of these, but I have been in this wheelchair for the past 28 years.
Tony's immediate answer to this was, WHY Can't you?
So over the next 6 months both Tony & Careena sourced all the parts needed and created him a Harley-Davidson and now Graham has his Harley-Davidson Wide Glide Trike, the wind back on his face once again and has travelled many hundreds of kilometres with his wife as his pillion.
With a wide range of styles to suit most Harley Davidson and Japanese Touring bikes, A TC Custom Trike can be tailor made to suit your needs. Every TC Custom trike is fully engineered, registered and ready to hit the road.
At TC Customs, Tony & Careena aim to bring joy and the reward for them is to see riders out there continuing to ride. After all, it is not what you ride but the fact that you are out there doing it.... only a rider really understands the wind in your face feeling....
Enjoy riding your trike but if you're shy, I don't recommend getting one as you'll be causing head-turning everywhere you go and they'll be looking AT YOU.
