AirFit explained
Despite the variety of sizes and shell shapes offered by most helmet manufacturers these days, it can still be difficult to find the perfect fit. ScorpionEXO have gone a long way to eliminating this problem with their exclusive AirFit cheekpad inflation system. This revolutionary system allows for a snug – but not tight – fit, with fewer pressure points.
AirFit incorporates air bladders in the helmet’s cheek and jaw area that can be inflated by pressing a pump button (like the primer bulb on a two-stroke mower or chainsaw) on the helmet’s inner chin bar. The bladders are adjustable, so you can inflate to the desired level of fit and comfort. A separate button allows for partial or complete deflation as needed.
While improving fit and comfort for all types of riding, the benefits of AirFit really come into their own at speed, reducing lift and vibration. The more secure positioning that AirFit delivers also keeps the helmet stable when riding in crosswinds.
Developed from, and used by, MotoGP’s top riders, AirFit is now accessible for the everyday motorcyclist, available on the following ScorpionEXO models.
- EXO-R1 Evo Air full face helmet
- EXO-1400 Evo II Air full face helmet
- EXO-520 Evo Air full face helmet
- ADF-9000 Air full face adventure helmet

Visor options
Fresh to the Australian market are a range of visors to suit selected ScorpionEXO models, plus a visor ratchet system developed from MotoGP.
The new visors feature Pinlock lens inserts to ensure 100 per cent fog-free vision, regardless of the riding conditions. Depending on the helmet model, either Pinlock MaxVision or Pinlock Original 3D inserts are available, with tear-off posts included.
Pinlock 100% MaxVision inserts are available on the following ScorpionEXO models
- ADF-9000 Air full face adventure helmet
- EXO-391 full face helmet
- EXO-520 full face helmet
- EXO-1400 full face helmet
- EXO-R1 full face helmet

2D Racing film is available for the EXO-R1 Air, with a separate internal sun visor available for some models, too.
Pinlock Original 3D inserts are available on the following Scorpion EXO modular models
- EXO-Tech flip-up full face helmet
Most visors are available in clear, light smoke and dark smoke, while some are also available with coloured mirror finishes, including red, purple, green, gold, silver and blue.
Further improving the usability and practicality of these new visors is the ‘Elip-Tec’ ratchet system. Developed by ScorpionEXO from use in MotoGP, Elip-Tec uses an elliptical cam mechanism that locks the visor securely against the eyeport. This creates an airtight seal, reducing noise transfer into the helmet.
The other benefits of Elip-Tec include easy, one-hand visor opening and a tool-less removal system.
