Royal Enfield introduces new colours for Himalayan

Royal Enfield’s Himalayan adventure tourer is now available in more colours than ever before, following the release of three new options at the start of March.

Dune Brown, Glacier Blue and Sleet Black are the new additions, joining an existing palette that includes Gravel Grey, Granite Black, Pine Green, Mirage Silver, Rock Red and Lake Blue.

Each new colour features subtle graphics, starting with a camouflage pattern for Dune Brown, splinter-style treatment for Sleet Black and subtle ‘01’ identification with a gloss/matte finish for Glacier Blue.

Applied to the fuel tank, side covers and mudguards, each colour is complemented with a blackout engine treatment, black frame, black rims and black detailing. The front carrier racks are also black on the Glacier Blue and Sleet Black options, but get a tan finish on the Dune Brown option.

Royal Enfield says these new colours demonstrate their commitment to meeting the evolving tastes and preferences of customers. 

New colours aside, the 2023 Himalayan retains its LAMS legality, along with familiar mechanical features and cycle parts. The 411cc ‘LS410’ four-stroke engine is unchanged for the new year, producing 17.88kW and 32Nm, and matched to a five-speed transmission with chain final drive. The longstroke single sits in a split cradle steel frame with 41mm tele fork front suspension and monoshock rear.

The Himalayan’s 21-inch front, 17-inch rear spoked wheel combination is also unchanged for 2023, as are the 300mm front and 240mm rear brake discs, with 2-piston and single-piston calipers.

Switchable ABS is standard, along with an analogue/digital dash and compass, while the Tripper app-based navigation system is an optional extra.

The Himalayan’s seat height is unchanged at 800mm and fuel capacity is 15 litres.

Along with the new colours, there’s also a price rise for 2023, with the Himalayan now starting at $8,390 ride away. This is an increase of $200 on last year’s pricing and applies to the existing Gravel Grey and Mirage Silver colour options. Rock Red, Lake Blue and the new Glacier Blue are priced at $8,590 ride away. The new Dune Brown and Sleet Black, along with the carryover Granite Black and Pine Green, are priced at $8,790 ride away. A three-year, unlimited kilometre warranty and three years roadside assist applies across the range.
