Rare Display at SIBBB - Ron Angel Collection
Fifteen iconic motorcycles will be displayed and considering their importance, only one will be in each garage to enable viewers to get right around the whole motorcycle. This represents a unique opportunity to see these motorcycles in the ‘flesh’ - they will only be displayed once at the SIBBB.
Of the 15 rarities, these motorcycles will be started: (times will be announced on the day and in the Program).
Moto Guzzi V8.500 Following the disappointment of 2016 when the V8 ran sporadically; with this new acquisition by Ron Angel, punters will be able to hear the full-throated roar of possibly the world’s most iconic racing motorcycle.
Moto Guzzi 350 - 1959 6 speed, 1 of only 2 produced, as ridden by the late Keith Campbell, Australia's first World Grand Prix Champion. Unbelievable concept and execution. Gilera GP 500/4 – the first bike to lap the Isle of Man TT at 100 mph in 1957. More Italian passion mixed with engineering brilliance. Jawa 350 V4 2 stroke as ridden the late great Bill Ivy. A Czech engineering masterpiece made even more remarkable under the oppressive CSSR regime.
Also, on show only will be:
Kawasaki KA 1 works 125, winner of the 1969 World 125 Championship as ridden by Dave Simmons; Bimota TZ 350, ridden by Albury teenager Graeme Geddes 26 wins in 2 seasons 1979-80; Tamborini Rotax 250, the only one; Massimo Tamburini - the founder of Bimota & designer for Ducati & MV, the Michelangelo of motorcycle design. Built for Roberto Gallina in 1983 Ridden Marcellino Lucchi.
Paton 250, #1 the only one, more Italian style and substance; 3rd In 1964 IOM TT MZ works 250, Walter Kaaden’s East German rocket ship; the pioneers of the expansion chamber. Again, like the Czechs - perseverance in the face of oppression.
This will be the last chance to see these bikes displayed in Australia by - Ron Angel Classic Racing. And if you haven’t had enough of this exotica, on the Roadrace track you will see: Out on the track; Friday 3pm, Saturday 11 am - 3 pm and Sunday 11 am.
The following six motorcycles will be ridden by current Australian champions, Team Angel Nolan Avon riders: Lachlan Hill 250 Rotax; Ben Bramich, 350 Manx Norton; Darren Bramich, 500 Paton, a stand-in for his son Tom, now in Europe to contest the world 300 championship; David Hall, ZXR750 Kawasaki; Rod Tingate 250 Honda 4; Bob Johnson 250 Honda 4.
Recent Phillip Island Classic results: Team Angel Nolan Avon riders continued their winning ways. Contesting 20 races – and winning 20 races! Ben Bramich - 350cc Manx Norton, 4 wins; Lachlan Hill - 250cc Rotax and 350cc Yamaha, 8 wins; Tom Bramich - 500cc Paton BM3 and 500cc Paton BL3, 8 wins.
Also winning the most prestigious trophy for the year the Phil Irving Memorial Trophy, were Tom and Lachlan with a maximum 100 points, sharing with ex Team Angel rider Levi Day who’s now based in the U.K.This is the first time the trophy has been shared by 3 riders.
