Honda CTX700 series now available
The 'CTX' series designation comes from what Honda call the new model's blend of Comfort, Technology and eXperience. Three variants are available: the naked CTX700N; faired CTX700; and the DCT auto CTX700D.
A purpose-built 670cc liquid-cooled parallel twin 4-stroke engine is common to all three (and unique to the CTX series), which features PGM-FI fuel injection and digital ignition to deliver abundant torque in the bottom end and mid-range.
The CTX700 and CTX700N feature a six speed manual transmission, while the CTX700D features the second and latest generation of Honda's DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), that enables you to switch between manual and two modes of auto transmission, all through a handlebar switch.
ABS braking is standard across the range, with single discs front and rear.
Overall dimensions are similar on all variants, with a 1,530mm wheelbase, 720mm seat height and 17-inch wheels common across the range. Weight varies from 219kg to 234kg.
Frame construction, low centre of gravity and soft suspension (107mm travel front, 110mm travel rear) make for a comfortable, enjoyable ride that doesn't compromise on handling or agility.
Designed specifically for enjoying the open road, Honda says the CTX700 and CTX700D are the ideal travel partners for exploring the countryside, either alone or two-up thanks to the open, roomy ergonomics, efficient fairing and sizeable windscreen.
Riding position on the CTX700N is more on the cruiser side of things, but it's not a completely 'laid-back feet-up' ride, either, capable whether you're taking on daily rides and weekend trips.
Available in Black and Red, the CTX700N, CTX700 and CTX700D are available now in Honda Dealerships nationally.
Pricing starts at just $9,049 for the un-faired CTX700N, $9,849 for the faired CTX700, while the CTX700D with Honda's DCT is $10,849 (prices do not include on-road or registration costs).
