Ducati Xpeditions coming to New Zealand
The Ducati Ride Experience (DRE) adventure travel programme for Ducatisti that’s been a hit in Europe is coming to Australasia, with the very first ‘Ducati Xpeditions’ ride event to be held in New Zealand this December.
Exclusive to Ducati adventure bike owners (Multistrada 950, Multistrada 1260 and DesertX), Ducati Xpeditions is a three-day event, from 6 to 8 December, in the Central Otago region of New Zealand’s South Island. Each day will involve around 300km of riding through spectacular scenery, allowing you to experience your Ducati adventure bike in the type of riding environments it was designed for.
Led by Ducati Adventure Specialist, Nick Selleck, the ride will start at Mount Cook and transit through Alexandria before finishing in spectacular Queenstown. Planned and pre-ridden, each day’s route is suitable for the aforementioned Ducati adventure models fitted with off-road tyres and will include some of the most stunning gravel roads and adventure trails the world has to offer.
Ducati organise the whole experience, so you only need to arrive with your bike and enjoy the journey. There’s a concierge service to transport your luggage and a full support team on hand, including medical assistance, lead and sweep riders. The package also includes breakfast and dinner each day, plus three nights shared accommodation in four-star hotels (single accommodation optional).
After the ride, a full gallery of images captured by the Ducati Xpeditions crew will be provided as a memento of the trip, along with a personalised gift.
The cost is NZ$2,950/person shared accommodation, or NZ$3,295/person single accommodation. Ducati adventure bike owners in Australia who want to take part in Ducati Xpeditions would be responsible for their own travel arrangements and bike transportation to New Zealand.
