Seller's Description
This is a descendant of Edward Turner's 1938 Speed Twin design - a new 500CC vertical OHV Twin which hit the market as 1939 models, and were very successful. This pristine bike has been fitted with a new old-stock Amal Mono Bloc carburettor, a new old-stock cylinder barrel and a new old-stock 4 speed gearbox. The engine ha been fitted with all new bearings and has new pistons and rings, and has new valves and guides. It has the Lucas Distributor and Coil Ignition system, different from most Triumphs of the period, which used either Lucas or BTH Magnetos as their ignition system. It has the new sprung frame which was first introduced in 1955. It has been converted to 12V. It has no battery or fuel.
