Seller's Description
This unique 1950’s carousel ride was built by renowned Belgium manufacturer Lenaert. The Lenaert ``Indian`` motorcycles were made from 1951 through to 1966, and fitted to a variety of carnival rides in number of styles. The appearance is obviously patterned after the early Indian cycles with plunger frame and skirted fenders. They measure about 140cm (55``) in length, and from what’s available online it seems as little as 500 were manufactured. Few survive today and when they sell they attract between 5 & 8kUSD, although a beautifully restored example sold for just under 10.5kUSD (see attached pic) Reports indicate Lenaert manufactured 6 operational examples powered by 50cc Flandria moped engines. These were used as circus rides, but only one is accounted for today in the USA. This is a timeless piece of history, completely original with excellent patina and like all art and classics is almost guaranteed to increase in value.
