Vespa release ‘Six Day’ special
Based on the current Vespa GTS Super 300 that reached Aussie shores last August, the new Sei Giorni is powered by that model’s 278cc, liquid-cooled 4-stroke single, producing 15.6kW at 7,750rpm and 22Nm at 5,000rpm.While the new Sei Giorni tribute adds modern features, like electronic ignition, USB port and 220mm disc brakes with ABS at both ends, there are specific styling and detail changes that are designed to hark back to the original.
The main body of the GTS 300 remains, but the Sei Giorni moves the headlight to the front mudguard and completely redesigns the handlebar and headstem; more of the handlebar is exposed, the instrument panel is more compact and a small windscreen takes the place of the headlight.The previous all-digital instrumentation on the GTS has been replaced with an analogue speedo, odometer and fuel gauge, all with retro-styled fonts, surrounded by warning lights. A digital clock occupies a separate panel below this. A bold ‘6’ stencil graphic adorns the nearside front leg shield and offside rear engine cover; the latter sitting above a ‘Sei Giorni’ badge in place of the ‘GTS Super’ badge. A numbered plaque adorns the rear of the leg shield and Matt Verde (green) is the only colour available in another nod to this model’s history.
The seat has been subtly reshaped and there’s a blackout treatment for the muffler heatshield, instead of chrome, but other features, like the indicators, tail light and black 5-spoke wheels, are unchanged from the GTS 300. A series of accessories will be available to suit the Sei Giorni, including front and rear luggage racks, a 42lt top box and Vespa’s smartphone-compatible multimedia platform. The range also covers Sei Giorni-specific riding gear and lifestyle accessories, like helmets, t-shirts and carry bags.
