Upmove: a new approach to motorcycle transport
Trust. It’s something we all want when buying a motorcycle and it’s just as applicable when transporting a bike, especially one we’ve just purchased or sold. There are plenty of motorcycle transport companies out there, but who can you trust? Upmove has the answer.

Established in 2017, Upmove has access to a network of removalists and transportation companies all over Australia for short and long haul moves. More importantly, the Upmove platform makes it easy to book motorcycle transport, as well as compare prices and customer ratings before making your decision. That’s the real difference with Upmove - as transport companies are competing for your business, you’re assured of getting the best price.
Transporters want to optimise each trip they make, too, so if there’s space in their vehicle for a departure and destination that aligns with your needs, they’ll be keen to pitch for the job, further improving your chances of getting the best price.

As transport companies are essentially coming to you via the Upmove platform, you don’t have to waste time making countless phone calls or waiting on responses to emails seeking a quote – one enquiry is all that’s needed.
Finally, as customer reviews are both abundant and transparent (600+ at last count), you’ll be able to make an informed decision on the best transporter for you and your motorcycle.

Not just Sales
Upmove isn’t only a platform for motorcycle buyers and sellers. It can also be used by bike owners who are moving house or relocating interstate for work reasons and want simple, reliable and affordable transportation for their motorcycle.

How it Works
Here’s a detailed rundown on how the Upmove process works.
- Enter your request.
On the Upmove website, submit the obvious information first, like where the motorcycle needs to be transported from and to. Then, provide details of the motorcycle itself, including length, width, height and weight. If you have special requests, like covered transport only, or information that may impact on how the bike’s transported (eg., the bike’s still crated, requiring a pallet loader or forklift, or there are parts that need be transported with the motorcycle), include that as well. The more information that’s provided, the better. Photos of the bike can assist here, too.
Once your request is lodged, Upmove will reach out to movers that best suit your requirements. - Compare quotes
Upmove will provide you with quotes from various transport companies pitching for the job. Depending on the request, the number of quotes will vary, and companies may ask for additional information before finalising a quote, which is why it’s important to provide as much information as possible when first entering your request.
There are no hidden fees in this process, so the quote ultimately provided by the mover will be the final price, inclusive of GST and factoring in all information provided.
With multiple quotes to choose from, you can then pick your mover based on lowest price, quantity of reviews (suggesting experience) or quality of reviews (suggesting customer satisfaction). It’s this latter factor that gets back to the trust element mentioned earlier. Unless you’re in the business of buying and selling motorcycles, you’re probably only going to need a motorcycle transporter a couple of times in your life, so knowing who to trust is important. - Arrange collection and delivery
Once you’ve selected your transporter and a price has been confirmed, contact them to finalise a pick-up date and time, along with delivery time, delivery contact person and any other details specific to the job, like vehicle access issues. - Prepare your bike and meet your mover
With the move booked, make the bike ready for transportation. This may involve cleaning (always a good idea), addition/removal of parts and accessories (if relevant), or ensuring the bike is rideable if the final destination is inaccessible for the delivery vehicle.
Simple things like having the tyres pumped up makes it easier for the moving company, ensuring the loading/unloading process is as easy as possible.
Taking photos of the bike before pickup is a good idea, too, in the unlikely event that any damage is incurred during transportation.
With the bike prepped and ready to go, meet your mover on the pickup day and finalise payment (if not done prior). - Relax!
With the bike on its way to a new destination, you can take it easy, knowing your bike is in the hands of a transporter you’ve selected and trusted.

Near or Far, Big or Small
The Upmove network has access to dozens of transporters and removal specialists all over the country. From Perth to Sydney, Darwin to Adelaide, Cairns to Hobart and just about every other major town or city in Australia. That network helps find the best, most suitable mover for your needs, whether it’s intrastate or interstate. Most transportation businesses in the Upmove network operate seven days a week, with public holiday deliveries and even overnight services available from some providers.
Just about any motorcycle can be transported through the Upmove network of transporters, too, from the smallest scooter to the largest tourer, as well as race bikes, show bikes, sidecar outfits and trikes.
