Sucker Punch Sally Choppers Release
Funny name, but Sucker Punch Sallys delivers a 7 model range of old style custom choppers from the USA. To be sold by Sucker Punch Sallys Australia, the bikes will be distributed exclusively by Python Choppers of South Melbourne. Plenty of interest was generated at the Motor Show where a 66, Swinger and Traditional were displayed. They are expected to sell in the mid-$30,000 range. Another plus for show goers was the chance to speak to Christian Clayton the founder of Sucker Punch Sallys in the USA. He flew in especially for the occasion. Of the line-up on offer, the Traditional Bobber is the flagship of the SPS range. It is a modern take on a traditional classic and like all of the bikes is powered by Harley-Davidson powerplants - generally the 1340cc Evolution V-twin, matched to a 6-speed transmission.
The 66 is a more aggressive version of the Traditional Bobber, but features a 16-inch wheel up front and an 18-inch at the rear. It has a superior suspension set-up. The Swinger concentrates on customising the suspension, making it ideal for long distance touring. It also can be accessorised for the highway with a windshield, highway bars and saddlebags. It features a larger 1445cc V-Twin and a two into one exhaust combination. The Slim is a narrow tyre bike with loads of power and ribbed rear fender, that screams 'old school style'. The Hot Rod is based on a vintage chopped Shovelhead and features a 17-inch rear wheel and raised axle height for superior handling. It has hand machined brass accents on the foot controls and a 5-speed kicker transmission. The Sled is a 60's style retro Bobber with dual split tanks, making it great for long distance touring. The Special is the working man's special and is also the cheapest bike in the SPS line-up. It is based on the Traditional Bobber. There is also the LoveHate model which allows for ultimate customising of your SPS bike. Retro - done well - is always cool and the Sucker Punch Sallys are well worth a look!
