Specs, pricing revealed for Honda CB1000 Hornet SP
Ahead of its local release, Honda Australia have revealed details and pricing for the 2025 CB1000 Hornet SP. The biggest and most powerful naked in Honda’s ‘Street’ lineup, the CB1000 Hornet SP combines a CBR1000RR-based engine with premium chassis components and a raft of rider-assistance technologies.

At the heart of the MY25 CB1000 Hornet SP is a 1,000cc four-cylinder engine. Based on the inline four in the CBR1000RR Fireblade, this liquid-cooled, DOHC unit features 11.7:1 compression, PGM electronic fuel injection and ride-by-wire throttle. Maximum outputs of 115.6kW @ 11,000rpm and 107Nm @ 9,000rpm are marginally down on the peaks delivered by the Fireblade, which is offered here in CBR1000RR-R SP form.
The engine is matched to a six-speed transmission with revised gear ratios to improve acceleration. A slipper clutch and adjustable quickshifter for clutchless gear changing are standard, with chain final drive.

As with the CBR1000RR-R SP sold locally, the ‘SP’ part of the CB1000 Hornet SP designation signifies the addition of premium componentry. This starts with 41mm Showa SFF-BP USD front suspension and Öhlins TTX36 rear suspension. Front and rear travel isn’t listed, but the forks offer full compression, rebound and preload adjustability, with the rear monoshock operating through a Pro-Link system.
The premium spec continues with radial-mounted Brembo Stylema calipers on dual 310mm front brake discs. The rear 240mm disc has a single piston caliper and the mandatory 2-channel ABS is fitted.
Tyres are Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22F, in 120/70-ZR17 front and 180/55-ZR17 rear sizes, although the Australian spec sheet also lists Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres.

Tech starts with five selectable riding modes, three of which are pre-set, with the other two customisable to suit rider preference. Additionally, there are three selectable levels of power output and engine braking, as well as four levels of adjustability on the Honda Selectable Torque Control system that features integral Wheelie Control.
Dual LED projector headlights and an LED tail light are standard, as is Honda’s ‘Emergency Stop Signal’ (ESS). This automatically activates the bike’s indicators as hazard lights when emergency braking is detected, warning those who are travelling behind. The ‘Honda Intelligent Security System’ (HISS) is also standard.
A 5.0-inch colour TFT screen displays all bike functions and settings, and is said to be easily navigable. This can also be connected to the rider’s smartphone via Honda RoadSync.

The CB1000 Hornet SP is built around a steel diamond frame, while the wheels are cast alloy. Seat height is 809mm and dimensions are 2,140mm x 790mm x 1,085mm (LxWxH). Kerb weight is 212kg with the 17-litre fuel tank full.

For Australia, the MY25 CB1000 Hornet SP will be offered in a single colour - Matte Ballistic Black Metallic – accented with gold fork uppers and gold wheels. The engine gets a blackout treatment with satin silver accents on the muffler, while subtle ‘Hornet SP’ identification features on the radiator shrouds and tail.
Local pricing starts at $17,799 RRP, with deliveries expected before the end of Q1, 2025. See your Honda dealer for more details.
