Half Jacket - not Half Done
Designed in France and made specifically for adventure riding, the ETNA has been strongly inspired by ‘Techwear’ trends, both in its features and its styling.
The standout feature is the removable half jacket. Fully waterproof (using XDRY3L laminate), this is worn over the main jacket in wet weather. The half jacket covers the upper chest and back, with full-length sleeves and a removable hood for off-the-bike use.

While it may seem like a half measure, the half jacket is actually a very clever idea, allowing unimpeded access to the main jacket’s pockets. As the lower section of the main jacket is also waterproof (using Teflon DWR treatment), a full-length overjacket isn’t necessary, so the half jacket saves on bulk and weight.

The main jacket has a comfortable, flexible softshell outer with mesh ventilation panels on the upper chest, upper back and sleeves. This ventilation allows the ETNA to be worn in warm and dry conditions, keeping you comfortable.
For cold weather, there’s a removable, full-sleeve thermal inner lining (with mesh underarms) that uses 160g insulation in the body and 80g in the sleeves.
Protection, with Options
The ETNA comes standard with Fanom protection in the shoulders and elbows. This light, thin, flexible and ventilated armour is Type A Level 1 rated, with Type B Level 2 armour optional.
Pockets in the chest and back allow for optional (Type B Level 2) protectors to be fitted.
The ETNA is also compatible with Ixon’s IX-Airbag (U03, U04 and U05) standalone airbag system, which is available separately.
Reflective print in multiple locations offers night-time visibility, which combined with the included protection, gives the Ixon ETNA a CE Certified Class AA safety rating - the second-highest rating available.

Pockets Aplenty
If you’re adventure riding, you need quick and easy access to all your essentials. The ETNA has you covered here, with four pockets on the lower front of the main jacket. Two of these are large enough to hold bulky items, while another is waterproof – using a FIDLOCK magnetic closure - to hold a wallet, phone or important documents.
Two further pockets feature on the back (zippered and flap-fold), with a right-side chest and left-sleeve pocket, too. There are also chest and left-sleeve pockets on the waterproof half jacket, while the removable thermal lining has two pockets.

The Perfect Fit
With a regular (straight) cut, the ETNA features a zippered front closure, with adjustment tabs on the wrists, forearms and biceps to ensure an ideal fit. The waterproof half jacket also features a zip closure, while its removable hood can be tightened.
The half jacket can be compressed down to carry in the main jacket’s lower rear pocket, but like the removable thermal lining, this is best stowed in your bike’s tankbag/topbox/panniers when not in use, to maximise comfort and freedom of movement.

Ready for winter, but with features that make it usable all-year round, the ETNA has the maximum rating for waterproofing, breathability, warmth and ventilation.
Priced from $1,099.95 RRP, the Ixon ETNA all-seasons adventure jacket is in stock now. Available in men’s S to 2XL sizes, the khaki (main jacket) and black (half jacket) combination is the sole colour choice.
