PROVISIONAL 2020 MOTOGP CALENDAR RELEASED

Subject to FIM homologation, international Grand Prix racing will be held at the KymiRing (located north east of Helsinki) on 10-12 July – the first time Finland has hosted a GP since 1982.

The other notable change in the 20-round schedule for 2020 is the move of the Thai round at Buriram to the first half of the season; specifically Round 2 as part of the initial leg of flyaway races.

These changes aside, the provisional calendar is largely as per 2019, with most rounds occupying familiar calendar positions.

The season will once again open under lights at Losail in Qatar and close at Valencia in Spain. After four flyaway rounds to start the season, the first European round is at Jerez on 3 May, followed by Le Mans, Mugello and Catalunya.

The summer break starts after the all-new Finnish Grand Prix in July and lasts almost a month before racing resumes at Brno on 9 August. However, both these rounds are still to be confirmed.

Spielberg, Silverstone, Misano and Aragon follow, then the second leg of flyaway rounds held over three consecutive weekends, starting with Motegi on 18 October.

The Australian GP at Phillip Island will be in an almost identical position to this year – 25 October - with the Sepang round following on 1 November.

The 20-round 2020 championship concludes at Valencia on 15 November.
