With summer just around the corner, many motorcyclists will be looking for ways to keep cool without needing different jackets or riding unsafe with jackets unzipped or removed altogether. Zerofit has the answer with their Cold Skin baselayer.
Zerofit Cold Skin baselayer – NEW for summer!
Designed to keep motorcyclists cool and dry, even at the height of the warmer months, Zerofit’s new Cold Skin baselayer shifts the mindset on how a baselayer can offer significant performance benefits – even in summer temperatures of up to 40° Celsius.
- Three times colder than a standard competitor product
- Cold from the moment it touches your skin
- Absorbs heat and spreads it across your body
- Disperses sweat rapidly, creating a quick-dry feeling
- Has maximum UPF50+ UV rating
Independent testing has shown the Cold Skin baselayer is three times cooler than a standard competitor product. Integral to this baselayer is Zerofit’s ‘Cold-to-Touch’ (CTT) Technology. A fresh innovation for 2023/24, CTT utilises innovative fibres that absorb heat and spread it over the body surface.
The baselayer is cold from the moment it touches skin, quickly delivering an efficient cooling feeling which can help boost concentration in the hottest of riding conditions. The thin and lightweight fabric also disperses sweat rapidly, creating a quick-dry feeling without stress on the skin or causing a restriction of movement.
At the Kaken Test Centre in Japan, the Cold Skin was subject to “Q-max” testing that analyses how cool a surface is. The higher the Q-max rating, the cooler the fabric.
Currently, if a product’s Q-max value is 0.1 W/cm2 or more, it is recognised as having ‘cool contact performance’. The Cold Skin recorded a value of 0.298W/cm2 – whereas a standard competitor product would typically score below 0.1 W/cm2. That means the Cold Skin is three times cooler than its rivals.
In addition, the Cold Skin baselayer also offers UV protection and odour-absorbing technology. Zerofit have built in the maximum UPF50+ rating into the garment, while Polygiene StayFresh silver ion antibacterial treatment suppresses 99% of odour-causing bacteria and also helps eliminate sweat odour.
Zerofit Heatub Ultimate baselayer
Developed in Japan by a team of experienced and passionate riders, the Zerofit Heatrub Ultimate Baselayer has been proven to be five times warmer than leading competitor baselayers, making it a real gamechanger for riders in the coldest of winter conditions.
- Five times warmer than a standard baselayer
- Heat Threads generate warmth instantly
- Does not rely on compression/tightness
- Super-stretch material enhances comfort
- Effective in temps as low as -10° Celsius
Independent testing at the Boken Institute in Osaka, Japan, showed Zerofit’s Heatrub Ultimate had a heat retention rating of 0.78. For comparison, a standard baselayer would be rated at 0.1-0.14, while a sweater would typically have a rating of around 0.3.
The Heatrub Ultimate baselayer works through technologically enhanced ‘Heat Threads’ on the inner side the garment. These are activated through movement, gently brushing against the skin to generate warmth instantly – heat through friction.
Unlike most other baselayers, the Ultimate does not work on the basis of ‘compression for heat’ – so you can still move freely when riding. This is especially important for adventure riders that are regularly up on the pegs and shifting around on their bike.
The Ultimate baselayer works best in a temperature range of -10° Celsius thru 10° Celsius and can be combined with Heatrub Ultimate Leggings (mens and womens), Heatrub Ultimate Socks and Heatrub Ultimate Neckwarmer, meaning you can be warm from top to toe.
Zerofit Heatrub Move baselayer
An alternative to the Heatrub Ultimate for slightly milder winter weather, the Heatrub Move utlises the same Heat Thread technology, but works at a higher temperature range, regulates temperature changes and also incorporates moisture-wicking technology.
- Twice as warm as a standard baselayer
- Adaptable warmth regulates temperature
- Wicks away moisture
- No cold sweat feeling
- Designed for temps of -5° to 12° Celsius
Like the Heatrub Ultimate, the Heatrub Move has been independently tested and proven to be twice as warm as a standard competitor.
The Heatrub Move baselayer features 45% polypropylene construction on the inside, as well as a hollow polyester shell. These elements work in tandem to regulate body temperature, so as your ride progresses, you won’t overheat.
This baselayer’s construction also removes sweat from the skin, with the hollow polyester design and ‘LABO’ fabric ensuring it evaporates off the garment’s surface quickly. This means the unpleasant experience of cold sweat on the body never materialises.
Designed for slightly milder conditions than the Ultimate, the Move baselayer works best in a temperature range of -5° Celsius thru 12° Celsius.
