Phillip Island Gardner Straight stand adds undercover seating

This is the first time this feature has been offered for grandstand seating at Phillip Island and is one of a number of new projects that have been undertaken to ensure fans enjoy their MotoGP experience at the Island, no matter what the weather.

The Gardner Grandstand will host a limited number of covered seats, with spectacular views of the starting grid and Turn 12. The undercover option was released August 25,with seats priced at $385 each ('open' Gardner Straight seats are $275).

Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO, Andrew Westacott said the new initiative will ensure patrons are kept as comfortable as possible.

"The addition of a roof to sections of the Gardner Grandstand will protect patrons from the elements come rain, hail or shine," he said.

"To ensure no-one misses this fantastic opportunity, patrons who have already purchased Grandstand or General Admission tickets to the event will be able to upgrade to the undercover option."

At this stage, the new Stoner Pavilion (turn 12) and Siberia Grandstand (turn 6) have already sold out, as have a number of VIP facilities. Grandstand seating at Lukey Heights (turn 9) and Bass Straight(between turns 2 and 3) is still available.

The Pit Roof Silver facility VIP option (infield, above Pit Lane) is still open, but Platinum and Gold VIP Pit Roof options have sold out. Red Line and High Octane Club VIP packages are also sold out, but Champions Club (infield, turn 4) still has vacancies.
