New Honda for Australia Post delivery fleet
Honda's 'NBC 110' will gradually replace the CT 110 in the Australia Post delivery fleet, with the rollout of the new model starting this past March.
Finished in a distinctive green and white livery, the NBC 110 is billed as not only being safer than the model it replaces, but also more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.
"Our motorcycles are ordinarily replaced after three years of operational service and/or after they have been on the road for 25,000km," an Australia Post spokesperson said.
"As our facilities retire old Honda CT 110 bikes due to natural wear and tear, and order replacements, they will receive new Honda NBC110 bikes.
"The new bikes offer additional safety features (colour is easier to detect and they also have extra safety features) but they are also more sustainable because they help reduce carbon emissions."
Available only through contracted sale (ie. for Australia Post and similar fleet contracts), the new NBC 110 is not available to the public, although it is usually included in FCAI sales data.
The NBC 110 in detail
Building on the Honda Super Cub global platform, the new NBC110 was developed specifically for the requirements of Australia Post. Boasting electric start, improved handling and excellent fuel efficiency, the NBC110 provides additional features for everyday riders.
Powered by a 109cc, air cooled, single cylinder engine with PGM-FI fuel injection and electric start with kick start back up, the NBC110 offers suitable power and practicality.
Ideal throttle responsiveness ensures the new model is well suited to Australia Post's needs. Fuel efficiency has been increased by 30% compared to the CT110 and the new NBC110 is Euro 3 Compliant boasting reduced C02 emissions by approximately 30%.
Rider safety is paramount and the brightly coloured panels of the NBC110 ensure high visibility.
Rollout of the new model commenced in March 2013, with the NBC110 gradually set to replace the long standing Honda CT110 in the Australia Post fleet.
