Kawasaki announce Ninja 300
The most obvious change with the Ninja 300, as the name implies, is the capacity increase to 296cc. Kawasaki claim this increase to the four-stroke parallel twin will offer power and torque to eclipse everything in its class.
The 6-speed transmission features an assist and slipper clutch for lighter lever actuation, and to limit back-torque.
ABS is another new addition, with Kawasaki stating that this model is the smallest capacity production bike in the world to receive the optional safety feature.
Other key features on the new model include a rigid 'Diamond' frame, wider 140mm rear tyre, 10-spoke wheels, modern LCD instrumentation, big Ninja-style dual headlights and revised, more aggressive styling to the plastics.
With the LAMS market in mind, the seat height is still a low 785mm, and the overall weight is 172kg (174kg with ABS). Colour options will comprise Pearl Stardust White, Ebony or Special Edition Lime Green.
Kawasaki Australia have set up a dedicated and comprehensive micro site for the new model where you can 'create your own' Ninja 300 picture via the visualizer and become involved in the Ninja 300 community. Access the new site at www.kawasaki.com.au/ninja300
The new Kawasaki Ninja 300 will be available at Kawasaki dealerships throughout Australia in September. The model will be available in ABS or non-ABS spec. RRP will be announced upon release.
