GEAR ON TEST - TCX Blend 2 waterproof boots
Tested by: Phil Suriano
Part of TCX’s ‘Vintage Line’, the Blend 2 is a mid-sized boot with casual styling that makes them as wearable off the bike as they are practical on the bike.
In terms of style, the Blend 2 has a matte finish and pre-worn look that I liked. The design reminds me of the traditional Timberland boot and sits high over the ankle, yet works really well with jeans. Laces add to the casual look, with the subtle ankle cups and textured shifter points on the right boot’s toe (that’s repeated on the left side) the only clues to these being motorcycle boots.
Practical features start with sturdy full grain leather construction and include reinforced toe, heel and ankle sections. The T Dry waterproof membrane makes the Blend 2 practical for wet weather riding, while I found the grip of the honeycomb pattern ‘Groundtrax’ rubber sole worked well for walking and riding.
Due to the OrthoLite footbed, the Blend 2s were exceptionally comfortable to both ride in and walk in. After two days in them, I was very happy with the Blend 2s - they felt like boots I’d been wearing for a year!
Priced from $349.95 RRP, TCX Blend 2 boots are available in black or vintage brown, and 5–13 sizes.
