FEATURE - 2022 Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide
Harley-Davidson’s 2022 CVO lineup is here, and the entry point this year is the CVO Street Glide - a super-premium hot rod bagger that combines Harley’s classic fork-mounted batwing fairing with modern rider safety and convenience features.
One of the things that sets the CVO Street Glide apart from other MY22 CVO models is that it gets a Daymaker LED adaptive headlight that the others don’t. This adaptive version of the Daymaker works in harmony with the bike’s lean angle, projecting additional light - more light to the left side when turning left or leaning to the left, for example - to better illuminate the road ahead when cornering.
Power comes from the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine, which comes with a Screamin’ Eagle Heavy Breather intake as standard and is matched to a six-speed Cruise Drive transmission with belt final drive.
The CVO Street Glide’s 49mm dual bending valve front suspension offers 117mm of travel, while the premium twin-shock rear suspension set-up with manually adjustable preload offers 54mm of travel. Braking consists of dual 300mm front rotors and a single 300mm rotor at the rear, with 4-piston calipers all round.
Standard wheels are ‘Fugitive’ alloys in a 19-inch front, 18-inch rear combination, finished in gloss black with contrasting chrome. All gloss black, smoked satin and Blue Steel with contrast chrome finishes are also available, depending on the paint option selected.
Other standard kit includes a low-profile tank console with a CVO badge and light, plus the ‘Kahuna Collection’ of bolt-on parts that includes muffler end caps, rider footboards and pillion pegs, brake pedal cover and heated grips.
The 2022 CVO Street Glide also gets Harley-Davidson Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate sound system – in Stage II form - that includes speakers mounted in the panniers.
The paint options for 2022 are all new and start with Hightail Yellow Pearl/Black Hole two-tone with bright chrome engine finishes.
Envious Green with Black Hole Fade adds a flame pattern to the bodywork and gloss black finishes to the engine.
Blue Steel is a subtle solid colour, paired with scorched chrome engine finishes. This colour option also adds a quilted top to the saddle and pillion pad.
Combined capacity from the CVO Street Glide’s standard panniers is 68 litres (2.4 cubic feet), fuel capacity is 22.7 litres, dry weight is 377kg and seat height is 690mm.
Australian pricing for the 2022 CVO Street Glide starts at $58,250.
