COMPETITION - Budget Direct Indian FTR R Carbon
Budget Direct, Australia’s insurance specialists, are running a ripper competition for motorcyclists, with an FTR R Carbon – Indian’s ultimate street performance model - as the prize.

With more than one million policy holders all over Australia, Budget Direct already have a major presence in the field of home & contents insurance, while their motor insurance products have seen them win CANSTAR awards for Outstanding Value Car Insurance every year from 2007 to 2022.
An emerging player in the field of motorcycle insurance, Budget Direct are upping their game with a competition to win one of three premium Indian FTR R Carbon bikes. The first has already been given away to a lucky winner, with two more still up for grabs.

Indian FTR R Carbon
Born from Indian Motorcycle’s FTR750 flat track racer, the FTR 1200 debuted in 2019 and proved that an American v-twin could handle and carve through corners just as well as any sportsbike from Japan or Italy.
The success of the FTR 1200 has seen a number of variants released since, including the S, Rally and Carbon, while a Championship Edition (celebrating Indian’s five consecutive American Flat Track Championships) and R Carbon version arrived for the 2022 model year.
Taking the FTR’s street performance credentials and turning them up to eleven, the premium FTR R Carbon combines high-spec componentry, like Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes and new-for-2022 Metzeler tyres, with a proven, all-American v-twin performance drivetrain and styling touches that can’t be beaten.

The FTR’s 1203cc DOHC 8-valve v-twin produces 92kW and 118Nm maximums, sending all that power to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox.
All the things that make the FTR great were optimised or enhanced for the 2022 FTR R Carbon, like a steeper rake, narrower handlebars, smaller 17-inch wheels and revised engine mapping, combined with premium parts for a superior riding experience.
The Öhlins suspension is fully adjustable front and rear, Metzeler Sportec tyres enable the FTR R Carbon’s street performance to be maximised without impacting wet weather functionality, while the dual 320mm front discs and 260mm rear disc are gripped by Brembo stoppers - 4-piston front and 2-piston rear.

Other standard features on the FTR R Carbon include three riding modes, cornering ABS, stability control, traction control, wheelie and rear wheel lift mitigation and even cruise control – because not every ride is a corner-carving feast!
All those settings can be adjusted via the 110mm touchscreen display, while Indian’s Ride Command functionality brings navigation and Bluetooth phone integration to the party.
All up, the 2022 FTR R Carbon offers a lot for $25,995 ride away – but being able to ride away on one of these beasts for free is even better!
