Chad Reed and Aussie Women’s ISDE Team inducted into Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame
For their new inductees into the Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame for 2025, Motorsport Australia has recognised the achievements of Chad Reed in supercross and motocross, Chris Matheson in motorcycle drag racing and our winning team of female riders at the International Six Day Enduro – Tayla Jones, Jemma Wilson and Jessica Gardiner.
At a ceremony held during the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in Melbourne, Jones, Wilson, Gardiner and Matheson received their awards alongside inductees from four-wheel motorsport. They were joined by Casey Stoner, who was elevated to Legend status this year after initially being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016.

Jones, Wilson and Gardiner have excelled in domestic motocross and enduro competition, but were recognised by Motorsport Australia for their achievements at the ISDE, which include an unbroken winning streak in the Women’s World Trophy from 2013 to 2018. Jones and Gardiner also won at the ISDE in 2019, partnered by Mackenzie Tricker.
Reed’s achievements are well documented, led by two AMA Supercross Championships in the US and 19 championships in total, while Matheson is an eight-time Top Fuel Motorcycle drag racing champion here in Australia and the first local rider to achieve a five-second pass on the quarter mile.

Stoner’s elevation to Legend status recognises his achievement in delivering Ducati their first MotoGP World Championship in 2007. Victorious in his first race for Ducati, Stoner would add nine more that year to wrap up the championship with three races in hand. A switch to the Honda factory team in 2011 saw Stoner win a second premier class title. He would retire from the sport a year later, with a record standing at 38 race wins and 69 podiums.
At the Hall of Fame ceremony, Stoner received his Legend award from Mick Doohan, who along with Jack Brabham and Alan Jones, are the only other recipients of Legend status.

Including this year’s crop of inductees, membership of the Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame stands at 99. Those inducted from racing’s two-wheel world include Troy Bayliss, Craig Dack, Phil and Jason Crump, Wayne Gardner, Troy Corser, Stefan Merriman, Jeremy Burgess, Kel Carruthers, Keith Campbell and Tom Phillis, to name a few.
