CFMoto release 300 CL-X
CFMoto have expanded their range of single-cylinder commuters with the arrival of the 300 CL-X. Combining the neo-retro styling of the 700 CL-X Heritage with the proven drivetrain of the 300NK and 300SR, the 300CL-X is available now.

LAMS legal, the 300 CL-X is powered by a fuel-injected, DOHC, 292cc single-cylinder engine producing 20.5kW (27.9hp) at 8750rpm and 25Nm at 7000rpm. While the engine capacity and outputs are the same as the 300NK, upgraded engine mounts reduce vibration, while a forged piston reduces weight and inertia.
The engine is matched to a six-speed transmission, while a light-action slipper clutch allows smooth changes.

The 300CL-X’s chassis is described as nimble and responsive, with upright ergonomics and a plush seat for both the rider (795mm high) and pillion.
Suspension is made up of a 37mm USD telescopic fork and central rear monoshock, while disc brakes front and rear include four-piston front and single-piston rear calipers, along with Continental ABS. Grippy CST tyres are standard, fitted to 17-inch cast alloy wheels.
Other features include a 14.5-litre fuel capacity, circular LCD dash and built-in T-Box technology to monitor vehicle status alongside the CFMOTO app.

Like its larger 700 CL-X sibling, the 300CL-X features striking, neo-retro styling, with ‘X element’ LED lighting front and rear, a docked front mudguard, underslung exhaust and distinctive design for the fuel tank, radiator shrouds and sidecovers. A swingarm-mounted numberplate bracket allows for a streetfighter-like tail treatment and two colours are available – Nebula White and Nebula Black.

“We are rapt with the 300CL-X,” said Michael Poynton, Director of CFMOTO Australia, ahead of its arrival in March. “We first saw this neo-retro design language in the 700CL-X Heritage, and to extend it into the LAMS domain with the 300CL-X makes perfect sense.
“There’s really nothing quite like it in the smaller-capacity class and, with a proven chassis, engine and electronics, thanks to all the hard work already done on the existing 300cc models, we are confident the 300CL-X will create a lot of interest.”
