The engine is a modern fuel injected BMW GS 650 unit with a more powerful, street focussed Husqvarna head, all as supplied by the factory but now running a twice dyno’d Power Commander to optimise the horsepower and torque of this lightweight but powerful thumper (big single). The exhaust is a fully hand built, custom stainless unit optimised for performance and a gorgeous sound, yet capable of sliding past traffic police comfortably. The chassis comprises the original Husqvarna frame with upside down forks and a custom rear shock and coil. Wheels are hand built Excel Takasago lightweight street custom units (strong enough to cope with potholed roads), all laced and finished in gloss black. Brakes are BMW GS 650 Brembo ABS units front and rear with high performance street pads for modern safe performance. Electronics employ the standard factory ECU and display unit for modern reliability with a Power Commander piggybacking for optimal performance. The bike has been tuned on a specialist rolling road Dynometer. Lighting systems are all custom LED with a front headlight/DRL unit matched to custom billet indicators and the rear utilising a custom LED number plate surround with inbuilt programmable brake light and indicators. Bodywork is all handmade stainless steel as is the custom front mudguard. The number surrounds are hand made and stitched using leather from a classic Ferrari restoration. Totally cool. The “fuel tank” is actually a custom air intake for the pod air filter as the original plastic under seat fuel tank has been retained for optimum performance. Hand made and stitched using the leather and suede from the same classic Ferrari restoration and looks unbelievably cool. Practical touches continue through to minor items such as; the custom axle sliders with milled in track stand pick-ups; high quality, non-vibrating, folding bar-end mirrors; aircraft grade heat protection between the seat and exhaust; radiator guard, billet gear shift, custom stainless chain guard; custom pillion pegs and a stainless, laser engraved BMW badge for the engine cover. This is a one of a kind beautiful, fun, yet completely practical street custom for those looking for that individual old school look but not wanting to sacrifice modern performance and reliability. A full service, including new battery, has been completed by my local specialist workshop so that full documentation of all work carried out could be supplied for potential buyers.
