Seller's Description
Sadly it's time for my 1970 Saint to go, I'm just not using it any more. I bought it in 1989 and have maintained it for reliable and safe riding ever since. It's been on full registration until two years ago when I put it on historic registration which is not transferable. It is unrestored and substantially complete with the original Craven panniers and front and rear crash bars. The windscreen is missing, and the switchgear and indicators are not original. The seat has been recovered but the patterned top surface is not the same as original and the chrome plastic trim is narrower than original. I have the original cover and the top surface could probably be sewn into new side panels as it is not damaged. The front mudguard is unpainted stainless steel, one upper stay is a bit bent and the lower stay is chrome, again not painted. Hagon adjustable rear shocks are only about two years old as are the Avon tyres. Mechanically it is sound and has Boyer Bransden ignition, a high volume oil pump and cartridge oil filter fitted. The bike is original with the scars and scrapes that come with 48 years of use but is a prime candidate for a relatively straight forward restoration or use and enjoy it as it is, as I have done. With matching engine and frame numbers I believe that this is a rather rare surviving example of the model.
