I've owned this bike for over ten years and have restored it to as close to new condition as I know how. The engine and transmission were rebuilt nut and bolt, new pistons, valves, bearings etc. by Phil Marshall at K & R BMW Motorcycle Service. Roy Bogner did the paint and Master Platers the chrome work. New parts and other work done includes: EZA-4 contactless electronic ignition (original magneto included in sale), Works Performance Products' (USA) shock absorbers, Overlander stainless steel exhaust, wheels rebuilt with stainless steel spokes, brakes rebuilt, all new cycle part bearings, brand new Bing carburettors, custom made leather panniers and racks, Hydroblasted aluminium throughout. The photos show the desirable and rare genuine Schorsch Meier tank and seat, crash bars, running light, period RACV badge, Hella bar-end turning indicators and rear repeaters. The 42,743 mile odometer reading is believed genuine - it rides like a new bike. It's been ridden only shake-down miles since being restored. Currently on a non-transferrable VicRoads club permit, so will be sold unregistered, but a RWC and re-registration should be no problem. It comes with a spare (as is) Karden transmission stamped with the ratio 32/9 which I understand is a suitable sidecar ratio. There are a few spare gaskets, etc and a spare new 6 volt battery and some period documentation. There is also an extensive folder of restoration receipts. Serial number 3703639.
