WALCHA MOTORCYCLE RALLY – A RAGING SUCCESS
They came from far and wide with bikes of all types to this year’s Walcha Motorcycle Rally. Grateful for the good weather, ticketholders revelled in the incredible riding the region has to offer. Good times were enjoyed by over 1500 motorcycle enthusiasts, with hundreds more spectators enjoying Walcha’s small-town country hospitality and packed program.

The motorcycle street procession saw 180 riders take to the street on their bikes, led by drag racing legend Niki Zak and our women riders celebrating Australasian Women’s Motorcycle Ride Day (AWMRD). With hundreds of locals and spectators lining the streets – the sound and image of all those bikes riding together was a sight to see.

The friendliness, comradery and shared passion for bikes was clearly evident during the event, with hundreds of motorcyclists enjoying on-site camping for 3 nights and the convenience of access to the free Walcha town loop shuttle bus.

MC, Ben Mingay, did a fantastic job again keeping everyone entertained and up to date with the varied program of events, which included stunt shows by Flair Action Sports, postie bike races, barrel racing, enduro-x, burn out comps, tyre throwing competition, BackTrack dog jumping, a demolition derby, live music and more..

The show & shine was hotly contested, with the best bikes on show in 12 categories at the Walcha showground.

Thanks must go to Walcha Tourism and the hardworking voluntary organising committee, the generosity of the wonderful sponsors and supporters, the large contingent of volunteers who help on the ground, and the attendees for supporting the Walcha Motorcycle Rally in droves.
