US MX champ Gary Jones confirmed for 2010 HBBB

Jones will complete demonstration laps onboard a Honda Elsinore 250cc, the bike he won his 1974 Championship on, and will take centre stage at the Gala Dinner on Saturday night.

In a release confirming his attendance, the former Champion said he's looking forward to his first trip down under.

"I have raced all over the world but I've never had the opportunity to visit Australia and try my luck at racing," Jones said.

"I'm so excited to give it a try - I hear the dirt is amazing! So put a shrimp on the Barbie, I'm coming down under to throw some roost and maybe learn something else about Australia other than Kangaroos and Vegemite!"

Jones has a long and rich history in motocross, which we'll take a closer look at in a future issue.

While in Australia, Jones will also compete in the 2010 Australian Classic Motocross Championship, to be held at the State Motorcycle Complex a week after the HBBB on 9-11 April.
