Team Australia to field full squad at 2024 ISDE
This year’s International Six Day Enduro (ISDE) will see the return of a full Australian squad after last year’s edition saw only the Women’s World Trophy team represent. That means the 2024 ISDE, which will be held in Sallida, Spain, on 14-19 October, will see Australian teams racing for victory in the Senior, Junior and Women’s World Trophy categories.
Australia’s three Trophy teams for 2024 are as follows:
Senior World Trophy
• Josh Strang (Sherco)
• Cooper Sheidow (Yamaha)
• Jonte Reynders (Sherco)
• Kyron Bacon (Yamaha)
Junior World Trophy
• Korey McMahon (GASGAS)
• Angus Riordan (KTM)
• William Dennett (Yamaha)
Women’s World Trophy
• Jessica Gardiner (Yamaha)
• Tayla Jones (Husqvarna)
• Danielle McDonald (Yamaha)
The squads, announced in July, see the Women’s World Trophy team unchanged from last year, with Gardiner, Jones and McDonald all returning. The trio finished runner-up in 2023 and third in 2022, but are aiming to repeat the form that saw them win from 2015 to 2018.
In the Senior World Trophy team, familiar names include Strang and Bacon, but for Strang, it’ll be his first ISDE appearance since 2018. Bacon a member of Australia's third-placed Junior World Trophy team in 2022, while Jonte Reynders and Cooper Sheidow (Senior) will be making their ISDE debuts.
Debutants in the Junior World Trophy team are Angus Riordan and William Dennett.
“To be sending a full complement of Trophy teams to this year’s ISDE gives MA a tremendous amount of satisfaction," said Motorcycling Australia CEO, Peter Doyle.
“The talent across all three classes is outstanding, and I’d also look to congratulate the rookies who have been selected to represent Australia. I’m sure they’ll do an outstanding job.
“The 2024 ISDE will be a massive event, with the level of competition and intensity returning to what we witnessed in the pre-Covid years.”
Riders in the 2024 ISDE will cover around 1,300km in total, with the difficulty rating increasing each day ahead of the traditional motocross test finale on day six. Team Australia’s quest for ISDE glory will once again be backed by MXstore.
