Team Australia squad announced for 2025 FIM Oceania Women’s MX Cup
After winning last year’s inaugural FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup in New Zealand, Team Australia will be out to defend it this March at an event that will be held in Australia.
What was a trans-Tasman competition in 2024 will be expanding this year. Teams from the USA and Africa will make their debut, joining the Kiwis to provide additional challenges for the Aussie squad.

For the 2025 FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup, Team Australia will be captained by multiple national champion Charli Cannon (Honda). She’ll be joined by Taylah McCutcheon (Kawasaki), Taylor Thompson (KTM), Madison Healey (GASGAS) and Madi Simpson (Yamaha). Simpson is the new addition to Team Australia, which defeated the Kiwis in last year’s Cup in Woodville, New Zealand. Emily Lambert will be the reserve rider.

Team USA’s five-rider line-up is packed with mx stars, including nine-time AMA national champion Jordan Jarvis, multiple AMA WMX champion Kyleigh Stallings and 2024 AMA WMX Champion Lachlan Turner. Completing the US squad is rising star Jamie Astudillo and Mikayla Nielsen.
Team New Zealand includes 16-year-old prodigy Karaitiana Horne, the returning Aime Roberts, Olivia Bodle, Mikayla Griffiths and Milla Dahlenberg. Team FIM Africa had not confirmed their squad at time of writing.
The 2025 FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup will be held at Wonthaggi on 22-23 March, in conjunction with the opening round of this year’s Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX).

“I’m delighted to see such a formidable team represent Australia in the second running of the FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup,” said Motorcycling Australia CEO, Peter Doyle.
“There’s something unique about team sports, including all the subtleties and nuances that go with the pursuit of success. Fine margins can also often decide the outcome, which makes it an even more exciting spectacle.
“Team Australia is a tight-knit group, and the riders will leave no stone unturned as they look to retain the trophy.
“I’d also like to welcome Team USA and Team FIM Africa into the expanded event, in what will be a huge weekend in Wonthaggi.”

The 2025 FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup will feature three motos across the ProMX weekend. In addition to a standalone team shootout, two races will be integrated into the Ezilift ProMX Women’s Championship (MXW).
The point-scoring system for the Cup allows each team to drop its worst result to determine the final standings and the overall winning team.
