PRODUCT - Ixon M-Skeid jacket, M-SKD pants

Winter is here. But that doesn’t mean every day will be bitterly cold. In fact, some days at this time of the year can be pretty mild or warm, even in the southern states. If you’re adventure riding in winter, you’ll need clothing to handle these changeable conditions.

Ixon have recently added the ‘M-Skeid’ jacket and ‘M-SKD’ pants to their adventure range and they’re ideal for the milder winters we often experience here in Australia. With a removable thermal lining for the cold and opening panels to provide ventilation when things warm up, this new range is also waterproof.

Designed in France, both the M-Skied and M-SKD also feature revolutionary FANOM protection (CE Certified Class AA) in the shoulders, elbows, knees and hips that’s light, flexible and ventilated for riding comfort. FANOM chest and back protectors are optional, as is upgraded shoulder/elbow armour.

M-Skeid jacket

With a softshell construction featuring hard mesh panels and a soft mesh inner shell, the M-Skied is designed to suit the demands of adventure riding without compromising on protection or comfort.

The outer shell features Ixon’s XDRY3L technology; a three-layer lamination process that provides a high degree of water resistance but still allows breathability.

A removable inner lining is made from tough ripstop material with 240g padding on the chest and 80g padding on the arms for warmth, plus thumbloops to keep it in place.

When conditions warm up, simply remove the lining. If it gets warmer still, zippered panels on the chest and upper arm expose the mesh ventilation panels to allow cooling airflow. These panels are held open using clever FIDLOCK magnetic fasteners that are easy to attach and undo, even with gloves on.

Adjustments include elastic straps and press studs on the bicep and forearm, Velcro straps on the cuff and buckled straps on the waist, plus a drawstring adjustment for the neoprene-edged collar. A 270-degree zipper allows for attachment of M-SKD pants.

An abundance of storage options on the M-Skeid include two chest and two lower front pockets, a large back pocket and clever left forearm pocket that’s ideal for holding a parking pass or credit card. Inside, there's a waterproof pocket for holding your wallet or phone that can be accessed when the removable lining is in place, plus a larger inner pocket on the left chest and two pockets in the removable lining.

M-SKD Pants

Designed to complement the M-Skeid jacket, M-SKD pants feature similar construction and the same XDRY3L waterproof laminate, as well as FANOM armour in the knees and hips.

The inner layer is soft mesh and there’s a removable ripstop lining with 80g padding for warmth and stretch side panels for comfort.

Like the M-Skeid, there are zippered ventilation panels on the thighs of the M-SKD pants, held open using FIDLOCK fasteners.

There are two outer pockets, while mutiple adjustment options to ensure the optimum fit include press studs on the waist, thighs and calves, Velcro adjustment on the ankles and removable suspender straps.

Ixon M-SKD adventure pants are available in Sand or Black, and S-4XL sizes.
