The 2024 MotoGP World Championship is far from over and looks like it may go down to the wire again. That means there’ll be plenty to play for at the Qatar Airways Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, which is scheduled for 18-20 October at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
We’ll see Aussies in action across all classes this year, represented by Jack Miller (MotoGP), Senna Agius (Moto2), Joel Kelso and Jacob Roulstone (both Moto3).
Will the Aussie contingent shine in their home round? Will there be another debut victor this year? Will the Australian round prove pivotal in the 2024 championship? You’ll have to get to Phillip Island this October and find out!
New attractions at this year’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix include an indoor Beer Hall and the Trackside Club on Gardner Straight. There's also a price freeze on Island Pass tickets and free motorcycle parking for day visitors that'll make getting to the Island this year more affordable.

Indoor Beer Hall
A new addition to the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix this year is an indoor Beer Hall.
While undercover licensed areas already exist at the GP, the Beer Hall’s point of difference is that it will offer a selection of premium brews on tap - an Australian GP first – and will be open to all Island Pass holders aged 18+.
From refreshing lagers and ales to robust stouts, zesty ginger beer and non-alcoholic options, there will be something to satisfy every palate. Brands on tap include James Squire Ginger Beer, Kirin Ichiban, Stone and Wood Pacific Ale, Guinness and Furphy Original.
The Beer Hall can accommodate up to 350 people and will feature a motorcycle-themed bar, along with plenty of seating and super screens broadcasting all the on-track action, so attendees can enjoy the racing while enjoying their favourite brew.
"Our Beer Hall not only caters to the needs of our attendees but also enhances the overall atmosphere - something we want to elevate as much as we can to ensure our fans have a great experience,” said Tom Mottram, Australian Grand Prix Corporation Chief Events Officer.
The Beer Hall is located at the Gardner Village end of the GP Expo.
Supporting Movember
Movember has been announced as the Official Charity Partner for this year’s Qatar Airways Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, with the partnership to continue into 2025.
The world's leading men’s health charity, Movember was founded in 2003, with a focus on prevention, early intervention and health promotion. Since its creation, Movember has fuelled a men’s health movement, funding projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.
If you’ve purchased a ticket to the ‘Hero Walk’ rider meet-and-greet at this year’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, you’ve already done your bit to support Movember. Proceeds from each Hero Walk ticket go toward the charity’s game-changing work in men’s mental health, innovative medical research and ground-breaking tests and treatments for prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
NOTE: Hero Walk tickets have already sold out.
“This partnership with Movember embodies our commitment to supporting important causes and enhancing the fan experience," said Haydn Lane, Australian Grand Prix Corporation Chief Communications Officer. “We look forward to seeing our community come together to support men’s health while enjoying the thrilling world of MotoGP.”
Oceania Junior Cup returns
The bLU cRU Oceania Junior Cup (OJC) was the national support category at last year’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and will be back in action at Phillip Island this year.
Open to juniors aged 11 to 16, the OJC is aimed at developing the on-track and media skills of young riders, with coaching conducted by former GP rider, Garry McCoy. Managed by Motorcycling Australia and supported by FIM Oceania, the category is also an official Road to MotoGP program, endorsed by Dorna Sports.
Success in the OJC provides opportunities for riders to compete in international championships, like the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup and Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. Past OJC graduates that have gone on to greater things include Jacob Roulstone, who was part of the inaugural season in 2019 and made his Moto3 debut with Red Bull GasGas Tech3 this year.
“Grassroots sports are where future champions are made and the OJC has already been the starting point for so many talented riders,” said David Corrigan, Australian Grand Prix Corporation Division manager – Motorsport.
“It’s so exciting for us to see the OJC riders return to Phillip Island – they are always a great addition to the on-track lineup.”
