New Honda Grom coming in 2021
Ahead of its Australian arrival in the first half of 2021, Honda Australia has presented specs and images of the heavily-revised Honda Grom.
One of Honda’s most successful models since its local launch in 2016, the new-for-2021 Grom offers the same peaky 124cc single, low seat height, funky styling and LAMS-friendly specification as the original, but adds a number of new features.
While full details are yet to be revealed, the key changes on the MY21 Grom include a new frame and a fully-revised, Euro5-compliant engine that offers more power. The exhaust system has been revised, too, with a serviceable oil filter added.
The five-speed transmission is new (previously a 4-speed) and single-channel ABS has been added to the 220mm front and 190mm rear disc brake package.
There’s a new look to the plastics, including highlighted fastening bolts, while the headlight is an all-new design and LED, too.
Instrumentation is all new, with a gear position indicator and “shift up” indicator added to the display.
Finally, new graphics complement the heavily restyled body panels and there’ll be a range of five colour options, from traditional red, yellow and blue, to black and light grey.
Pricing for the 2021 Honda Grom will be revealed closer to local launch, but expect an increase on the current model’s $4,249 list pricing.
