MV Agusta Dragster RR America arrives
The first “America” in MV history appeared on an upgraded 750S in 1975. While the original 750S America was all red, the 750 Sport that preceded it was defined by a more “American” red, white and blue colour scheme.
The 750 Sport delivered around (68hp) 50kW, but engine modifications in the America, including a capacity increase to 790cc resulted in around 86hp (64kW) and a top speed in excess of 200km/h.
MV Agusta’s last gasp in the North American market back then, the 750S America was produced for less than three years. Too heavy – and also too expensive - to be regarded as a serious sportsbike, it has since come to be regarded as one of the best and most collectable of the classic-era MV Agustas. Jay Leno has one, which is always a good indicator of a bike’s desirability!

After the last 750S America – and a related 800 Super America – was built in 1977, the model name lay dormant for almost 30 years before the F4 750 Brutale America was released in 2005 as a limited-edition option kit for the F4; combining the name of the original 750S America and the colour scheme of the ’70s 750 Sport.
In 2012, the first 800 three-cylinder platform America was introduced, leading to the Brutale 800 America Special Edition of 2017 and this machine, the Dragster 800 RR America, that was announced last November.
Like the 2005 F4 750 Brutale America, the new Dragster RR America combines the name of the 750S with the colour scheme of the 750 Sport.

Designed by MV Agusta’s own CRC Workshop, the Dragster RR America is finished in a patriotic red, white and blue scheme of a mica blue base with white detailing, as well as a red saddle and frame. The wheels on the new Dragster 800 RR America are a star-spangled banner on their own, with white rims, red hubs and blue spoke retainers.
Other characteristics that make the new Dragster 800 RR America stand out from the crowd include a fuel tank adorned with stars, while the saddle boasts stitching with gold highlights and unique materials for both the rider and pillion
