Kawasaki release 2023 KFX90

The 2023 version of Kawasaki’s KFX90 has arrived, with the junior ATV adding some styling and spec changes, without compromising its usability and kid-friendly features.

The next step up from the KFX50 and designed for kids aged 12 and older, the KFX90 remains a smart choice for junior riders, with its 90cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine outputting 6.5kW and 6.6Nm, while a screw-type throttle limiter allows parental control over power output. The keyed ignition is another safety feature.

Electric start is standard, with a kick start back-up, while the thumb-control throttle and clutchless CVT transmission makes for easy operation.

Changes on the 2023 KFX90 start with the addition of LED lighting front and rear, allowing the ATV to see and be seen when fun extends into the evening.

The front mudguards are now taller, with the centre cover and grille redesigned, too, including the addition of a white ‘number plate’ that evokes the look of Kawasaki’s two-wheel KX motocross models.

Kawasaki identification has been added to the handlebar pad and there’s also a redesign of the inner wheel wells, ensuring less mud is sprayed onto the engine.

Carryover features include a strong double cradle steel frame, front brush guard and rear grab handle, as well as slip-resistant floorboards that run the full length between front and rear mudguards to provide a stable, protective platform for young riders.

Braking consists of dual mechanical front drum brakes and a rear hydraulic disc brake, operated off the right- and left-hand levers, respectively, with a parking brake for safety.

A-arm independent front suspension features preload adjustability and 71mm travel, with the swingarm monoshock rear suspension offering 74mm travel. Eighteen-inch all-terrain tyres (7-8 front and 9-8 rear) add to the compliant ride.

Other key measures include 1425 x 905 x 925mm (LxWxH) dimensions, 150mm ground clearance, a 650mm seat height, 2.7mt turning circle, 5.3-litre fuel tank and 122kg wet weight.

Available exclusively in Lime Green with black lower body accents and black wheels, the 2023 Kawasaki KFX90 lists for $3,894 RRP.
