International Six Day Enduro starts today

The 'home track' advantage should see Finland amongst the favourites to take this year's ISDE title. The Finnish World Trophy squad will be led by seasoned ISDE campaigner and multiple WEC champion, Juha Salminen. Spain, who have tasted success in Junior Trophy ranks in recent years,have also fielded a strong team for this year's event. At the helm of Spain's challenge is ex-FIM Enduro World Champion Ivan Cervantes (Gas Gas). France, who won the World Trophy for the past three years, and the USA are also expected to be strong.
Kotka is a coastal town, located east of Helsinki in southern Finland. Kantasatama harbour will act as the main paddock area for teams from over 25 countries. Finland lasted hosted the ISDE in 1996. The event starts today, August 8th and runs through to Saturday, August 13th. Total course length will be 1,500 kms, with the longest single lap route being the 300km lap on day three.
