Husqvarna reveal '701' concept at EICMA 2013
The likely future of Husqvarna Motorcycles, following their acquisition by KTM in September, was unveiled at November's EICMA motorcycle show in Italy, with the off-road brand presenting a motard-inspired concept in the form of the 'Husqvarna 701.'
The concept bike showcases what Husqvarna call "innovative ideas and incorporates all the major design features of a premium product."
The bike gives a visual indication of the direction of future Husqvarna design, with a brief of 'simplicity,' best evidenced by what the company calls "understated bodywork surfaces."
Technically, the Husqvarna 701 is characterised by a big 690cc single cylinder 4-stroke engine, which produces 75hp and "outstanding torque," encased within a lightweight chromoly steel trellis frame, using the latest WP suspension.
A high performance exhaust and the latest Brembo radial brakes are other features.
Husqvarna says the 701 embraces the 110-year heritage of the Husqvarna brand and projects it towards the future.
