CFMOTO reveals 675SR-R
Following its unveiling in production form last July and a US market release in September, CFMOTO have confirmed their 675SR-R sportsbike is coming to Australia. A big brother to the 450SR-S that’s already available locally, the 675SR-R will land here in May, priced from $11,790 ride away.

CFMOTO’s entry into the competitive mid-capacity sports motorcycle segment was first seen in prototype form back in 2023. And while it’s not an homologated race bike, like Honda’s CBR600RR or the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, the 675SR-R compares very favourably to Triumph’s Daytona 660, the Aprilia RS 660, Honda CBR650R and Yamaha’s YZF-R7 HO in the street-legal, midsize sportsbike segment.

New Triple
Powered by an all-new, 675cc inline triple with 11.5:1 compression and Bosch electronic fuel injection, the 675SR-R’s peak outputs of 70kW (94hp) at 11,000rpm and 70Nm at 8,250rpm match or better the aforementioned rivals for the most part, but also mean it’s not LAMS legal.
Developed entirely in-house at CFMOTO, the DOHC, liquid-cooled engine is said to bridge the gap between the torque of a twin and the top-end power of an inline four, “ensuring an exciting and well-rounded performance package”. The exhaust system sits mostly under the engine to optimise aerodynamics and features a very truncated silencer.

Transmission, Suspension, Brakes
A six-speed transmission with slipper clutch and quickshifter (up only) is standard, with the whole drivetrain package sitting in a chromoly steel alloy frame with aluminium swingarm that’s been optimised for sharp handling and cornering.
Listed top speed for the 675SR-R is 200km/h, with 0-100km/h acceleration of 3.6 seconds. Seat height is 810mm, fuel capacity is 15 litres and the wet weight is 188kg.

“Track tuned” KYB suspension is used front and rear, with a 41mm USD fork that offers compression and rebound adjustability, while the monoshock rear is fully adjustable for compression, rebound and preload. For the brakes, dual 300mm floating discs up front and a 240mm disc at the rear are fitted with J.Juan calipers – four-piston at the front and single piston at the back.

New Style
While fitted with all the sportsbike design elements you’d expect, the 675SR-R’s styling sets it apart from its rivals. Boomerang-shaped DRLs sit above LED headlights sit in a compact, shrouded front end that looks extra clean, thanks to the indicators being incorporated into the mirrors.
At the rear, a “through-type” LED tail light sits proud of the tail unit. CFMOTO says this enhances visibility. The tail light features an animated effect when the bike is switched on or off, with the rear indicators incorporated into this distinctive arrangement.

The fairing is said to combine both aesthetic and functional elements, with aggressive shapes and sharp angles featured throughout. Open, wing-style extensions at the front are mirrored on the tail unit, with heat extraction vents on the flanks.
Available colours are Aerolite Grey, Nebula Black and Nebula White. The black and grey options add subtle accents and wheel pinstriping in blue and red, respectively, while the white version features all-blue wheels.

Standard Tech
Along with ABS, two-level adjustable traction control is standard on the 675SR-R, as is a 5.0-inch full-colour TFT instrument screen. This offers Google Maps navigation projection via MotoPlay, while CFMOTO RIDE App compatibility allows users to modify settings remotely, check bike status in real-time and plan routes in advance. The T-Box that enables the app’s functionality features a built-in 4G module and 6D sensor, enabling what CFMOTO says is seamless vehicle-to-device connection.
Although there are no selectable riding modes, the 675SR-R does feature a “Track Switch” function that allows the shift pattern for the six-speed gearbox to be reversed. CFMOTO doesn’t clarify how this works, beyond saying a simple bolt adjustment enhances “track-focussed performance”.

May Arrival
Due to arrive in CFMOTO Australia dealerships from May, the 675SR-R is listed at $11,790 ride away, which undercuts rivals like the CBR650R by more than $2,000 and the Aprilia RS 660 by almost $11,000.
The 675SR-R is backed by CFMOTO Australia’s warranty program that is set at two years, but can be increased the three when the bike is serviced exclusively at an authorised CFMOTO dealer. Finance can be organised through CFMOTO, too, with test rides available once units start arriving in dealerships.
