2014 Brisbane Motorcycle Expo cancelled
A release from event organisers, Exhibition & Trade Fairs (ETF), said "unprecedented support for this year's Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show" has led to the decision, which was announced on August 6.
ETF added that the decision to cancel the Brisbane event was the result of the increasing challenges in staging popular motorcycle expos in the region, contrasted by a massive uptake by exhibitors in Sydney's event, set for 15 to 17 November.
The 2013 Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre is already sold out.
"Sydney's success has just underlined that that is where the industry wants to be, plus Melbourne of course, so we've made an early call to fold Brisbane and instead focus on Australia's two main and strongest markets, said Exhibition & Trade Fairs, Managing Director, Gary Daly.
Along with the Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show, ETF also organise Melbourne's National 4x4 & Outdoors Show in August and RACV Motorclassica in October.
"Both the National 4x4 & Outdoors Show and Motorclassica are set for their best years yet, with more entrants and exhibitors than ever before, and lots of new products and displays," Gary Daly said.
"While it is disappointing to make the call on Brisbane, we respect the right of exhibitors to change strategy, while we will focus our efforts on those events which deliver maximum value for all stakeholders."
