Seller's Description
The Royal Enfield Bullet is a British overhead valve single cylinder four stroke motorcycle made by Royal Enfield in Redditch West Midlands. The Royal Enfield Bullet has the longest production run of any motorcycle and has been continuously produced since 1948. The Royal Enfield and Bullet name was derived from the company's links with the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield, London.
Several changes were implemented from 1949 in order to bring the bike up to date. This included a vertical engine with alloy head and a higher compression. A new fully sprung design using a swing arm with nonadjustable hydraulic shocks at the rear, while the front used an all-new designed telescopic fork. Power transmission was via the same four speed Albion gearbox as the previous model, with a unique 'neutral finder' lever the rider could press from any gear other than first to shift back neutral. An otherwise similar model, but with engine displacement of 499 cc, made its debut in 1953.
This Bullet presents in good condition having been a display piece for the past 6 years.
