Seller's Description
Australian complied with very close engine and frame numbers. Genuine 2 owner motorcycle. Was owned by original owner from 1978 to 1996. The second owner who was a collector of both classic cars and motorcycles who stored the bike and regularly changed oils plus would give it a short ride 2 to 3 times a year as he did with all his collection. This is a very very honest correct example of one of the sought after z range Kawasaki everything works even the fuel gauge. As per photos you can see it comes with both fuel tanks, original owners’ manual with pouch, parts manual plus the kick starter under the seat & partial tool kit. It has the most unobtainable part to find the helmet lock. Hence why it is not fitted to the bike. When the collector first acquired it, he repainted it plus had the exhaust system rechromed it has also had a new seat cover fitted as the old one (which is in the photos) broke down with age. This is a bike which would suit a collector as it has some very interesting history. It was originally built to European specs which were a little different to the Australian / us bikes. It was sent to Australia and complied here as in the day they were a poor seller in Europe. They were popular here in Australia so the bike was redirected to us. The difference are 1 alloy caps on spark plug caps. 2 different centre stand with 2 springs. 3 different mounting for rear blinkers (Australian mounting points are on the bike) 4. Forward mounted side stand. It is a very honest bike that i believe should be kept original and not restored. If you just want to use it for a Sunday rider it does ride very well. It has recently had 2 new tyres fitted. Regrettably selling due to circumstances changing. Can help with organising transport.
