Seller's Description
Kawasaki Z1A 1974 Engine no Z1E065871 Chassis no Z1F41015 A great bike, real head turner that always attracts a lot of attention. I bought it about seven years ago as a bit of a mess. Motor has been rebuilt by Superbike in SA since then and its done a couple of thousand K's. It had new o ring chain and sprockets fitted at the same time. Rear swing arm is a Bimota unit with piggy back adjustable shocks and it has a triple disk hydraulic braking set up with braided hoses. Both wheels have been replaced with period Lester Alloys with a wider fitting at the back. They were restored and repainted prior to fitting. It has a fork brace and steering damper to keep things under control. A tail tidy is fitted and a cut down front guard. Prior to my ownership the frame was braced and some work done on the heads. Exhaust is a stainless four in to one by Delkevic. The new paintwork is awesome, built up layer by layer in a local paintshop the pinstripes were hand painted. It is a deep candy brown original colour but in sunlight turns ruby/toffee apple colour. The brown cafe racer seat was imported to finish the look. Please note this is not a restoration, it is a ridden bike and although it has many new/restored parts it is an old bike. It comes with the original wire wheels and drum brake for the rear. Full size front and rear mudguards, original seat, grab rail and other items. Most parts are there except the original shocks, the chain oiler and exhaust. This is a rare and appreciating classic bike that has some period upgrades to create a great bike. I highly recommend an inspection. I pulled it out of the shed after winter and it fired up straight away, no rattles or smokes. Mileage is unknown, but its had a lot of money spent to replace rebuild components.
