The R3 was the forerunner to the RD and the race version (based on thisbike) earned a reputation as the ‘giant slayer’ on the
track. It is unmolested and original with everything cleaned up,
bearings greased, carbies overhauled etc. New rubbers, mirrors, air
filters, points, plugs, o-ring chain and rear sprocket. Tyres and
battery have done 3000 klms since new. Recent rebore with new pistons
and rings. I am the third owner, it sat in the previous owners shed for
the last 30 years. New paint work 3000 klms ago. New chrome to rear
guard, all other chrome work is original, looking good but not
necessarily perfect. I don’t mind my bikes showing a bit of
history with the odd imperfection. However it could be brought up to
concourse with some TLC if that is your preference. This is a very
collectable model, they were not made in the volumes of the later
RD’s and do not come up for sale often. The bike is sorted, ready
to ride and have fun. A reliable bike that starts easily with an awesome
howl out of the exhausts that cant be matched by a modern plastic
