Seller's Description
In 1957 Triumph re-entered the “middleweight” 350 class with the launch of the model Twenty-One (3TA). The bike was Triumphs first use of the unit construction design, utilising the 350cc (or 21 cubic inches, hence the name) air cooled, OHV twin 4 stroke twin with a 4 speed transmission. The Twenty-One motorcycle was easily identified by its large ‘bathtub’ rear bodywork, a feature added to streamline the design and lessen the amount of road grit subjected to riders on a damp day. Many riders generally found the appearance to be unappealing and mechanics also found the removal of the body work to be cumbersome, hence many removed or modified the rear section.
Produced between 1957 to 1966 the twenty-One proved to be a popular and well used motorcycle.
This Twenty-One comes complete with rear “bathtub” body work and would make a great restoration project.
