Parting with my Rudge after 30 years. 1937 500CC OHV Bronze Head Single Cylinder with 4 Valves. Restored motorcycle in very original condition. Starts and runs well. 4 Speed gearbox. Good tires. Rudge's won the "Ulster" motorcycle Grand Prix at Dundrod Circuit near Belfast, Northern Ireland and also set the World 2 hour record at over 100mph (160km/hr). In 1930. Rudge Ulsters again won the Isle of Mann TT Senior race and the team prize for that year. By the mid-thirties, with a top speed of over 90mph, the Rudge Ulster was advertised as "probably the fastest 500cc motorcycle in production.
The now famous Ulster was undoubtedly the highlight of Rudge manufacturing. With its powerful engine, having special alloy cylinder head, enclosed pressure lubricated semi-radial valve gear, special cylinder and massive crank case it is an outstanding mount combining superb performance with reliability and economy.
On Club plates that are not transferable. Bike can be seen by arrangement near Woy Woy, Central Coast, NSW or near Maitland, Hunter Valley by arrangement.
